Effort. We keep coming back to effort. You yell. You beg. You ask for results.

And we work on it.

We work hard. We work long. We tinker and toy and plan. It is not so simple as just running out and whipping up an event. We plan. We test the waters. Something big takes time.

And when we unleash something big, something that took I and the GM team four months to plan and posture over...We get this.
Quote:Wait. So just because youre a prestige and your friends with the gms you get to do stuff like this? Doesnt that seem like gm favoritism to you? Doesnt seem very fair.

Quote:I'm going to boycott this. I'm making an evil character that will destroy this from within.

Quote:This is too much. You're going to get all this power. It's too much for a PC.

Quote:Wait. What? This idea has to be a joke; if you think the GMs or the playerbase will let you get away with all this shit then you are mistaken. You're taking this too far.

These are complaints against the Ziggurat. These are complaints that wounded me physically. This event is not for me. Do not confuse IC actions to OOC desires. I am building this for the RP it shall bring.

Do you know what nemesis means?

Profanity

You asked for this. And when I presented the cake to you, you cast it back into my face and told me that it was sour. And then you turn around and ask for another.

Do you want transparency?

The GM team will oblige you.

You want RP?

You will be given it.

The child wishes and the parent provides.

But when you are given your meal...Do not cast it back into the parent's face.
Believe it or not, none of those were mine. But, honestly, if you want to change it, tackle it head-on. Don't sit behind fancy posts, but go and be the change you want to see in the community. Want more respect? Alright, go hold doors open for old Orcs. Posting will do nada.
...I...don't know anyone said that. The only reason I've ever had a problem with your guild Rosencat was because A) You said "new scourge" and that was just "eh that's not very fair" but I stopped caring...but then you said "Allied with the legion" that's the only reason I was angry. We'd get sucker punched in the face if we tried to ally a character with the Legion. I just can't say anything because...well it won't change anything and I'm not involved anyway.
You know, here's what I percieve to be the true issue on CotH... All of us have different opinions on what the issue really is. We all have different slants. And no one wants to accept that someone else's view on the issue may be right. Worse than that, people spout out about these issues (myself included), when they don't have even the slightest idea on how to fix them. We need to sit down and calmly brainstorm a list of issues with CotH. Once we've done so, let's line out steps for each issue, one by one, to fix them. Once one thing has been fixed, move onto the next. Nothing will ever get done until we sit down as a civilized group and start acting like real human beings.

Drama is not bad.

It is how people handle it. (If I recall, Cressy made a fantastic post about the nature of drama)

Also, I'm fine. I'm happy as usual and though Lost is quite the wordsmith, I am not on some sort of crusade. (Yet)

This thread just puts me at a state of unease due to the lack of control I sense coming from people. It started on a poor note as is.

I would of locked it long ago if not for the number of constructive comments it has garnered so far. For those of you keeping this civil and posting constructive criticism, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Looking back onto Rosencrat's post, as one of those who is impatiently slapping his monitor and muttering that people should stop whining and...

Yeah. I always liked the Ziggurat idea. Deadwind as a sovereign nation.

Any opposition I might give would be IC, through and through. However, one curiosity I'd wanted to bring up in the council meetings, meetings that unfortunately never happened, was how we intend to avoid being roflstomped by the major factions. Kirin Tor investigators, SI:7, the Shattered Hand, how do we keep our plans from coming to light or taken seriously?

Our player villainy faction isn't a pushover, but I think we aren't exactly on par with the true movers and shakers of Azeroth.

...

I have this horrible habit of derailing threads with what I see as the natural evolution and branching of my thoughts.
Oh, how coincidental. I never saw this thread earlier. I might as well repeat some of what I told Kretol today and I'm going to be brutally honest with you.

The entire GM team has lost their touch. You all have been too nice too people who simply does not deserve it. I remember when I started here and you'd see a GM slap on his tag in chat and say "Show some respect" or "watch your language" and the person would go like "Oh, yeah. Sorry." Now, instead, they actually argue back. To me it just seems as GMs are to careful about not hurting players and be liked by them and, instead, the lose their respect. Sometimes, it's much better to be feared than it is to be loved.

I remember one time, in Booty Bay (where else?), right after the dinner event in TECH, people were standing around the Baron on the upper floor. Both Loxy and Hawk was telling them not to be there, but they just ignored them completely. They pretty much just went "Meh. whatever." It shouldn't be like that.

I'm not saying that y'all should invoke as much fear as the four horsemen of the bropocalypse, but you need to step it up and show people that "I mean business, fool!" I mean, look at Kretol. Everybody has respect for him and you can see that as soon as he ever logs on. People should have just the same amount of respect for -every- single member of the GM team, because these are the people who sacrifice their free time, to try and make our experience as good as possible. According to me, that should be enough to respect them enough, but it seems like most people don't think the same way. That's why you need to bring the hammer down on people more. Play a little hardball.

Oh, and sorry if this exact same thing has already been said, but I really don't feel like going through six pages of posts when I've been up for 16 hours. Cheers.
All hail the Duskhaven Cabal!!!

And I condemn the fact that the forces of evil actually worked harder and more successfully than the forces of good in trying to stop the Ziggurat. . .death to those blind infidels!

Honestly, we complain so much about what isn't there but ignores what is right in front of our eyes. Perhaps instead of trying to make the world fit us, we should start learning to adapt to and fit into the world. Else we would just die screaming and raging as we are smothered by this cold reality of life. To be honest, I don't see much of an issue with CoTH as compared to spending hours trying to set up a Warcraft III RP or roleplaying with fails in retail. I would take a thousand dramas here then the crap there. So I think we should start calming ourselves and look at things objectively by counting our fortunes.

I shall be brutally honest in saying what's right.

We get to role-play at all.
We get summons to places whenever we ask.
We get phased for role-plays if we ask.
We have a purposeful system of control that might be controlling, but at least we don't have sons of illidans and brothers of Arthas here.
I could go on, but wouldn't, because I am not posting to think for you.
Some players need to learn how to present constructive criticism instead of just coming off as a troll.

Also, for the record, I've personally never banned anyone for criticizing myself or anyone else on the team. Heaven knows I've left enough "Grakor sucks!" threads alive while just shrugging about it. Point being, no one should be scared to PM either myself or Kretol if there is an issue with GMs. I listen every time someone tells me that they've had a problem with a GM, and even if you don't see the results, every time something is done about it, even if sometimes it's just discussing the problem with the GM in question.

That said...I don't want to lock this thread. Don't make me do so.

Pft, good needs a break. Though, again, I do apologise for the weeks I've been absent. Nothing to do with any power on your side I assure you.
Aulten steps on Annabelle, and sighs. "I'm sorry, I couldn't see you there through my massively evil ego."

Pfft, lrn 2 spell, Rosencrat. But, back on topic, I feel like there's nothing else to say. We've beaten the horse many a time beyond death on every subject possible.
'Ello everyone.

I would simply like to thank you all for all of you feedback on the first day of this thread being up. I've already started discussing with a few of the other GM's and I intend on focusing on the GM-community connections first.

So first up we'll be having open office hours on GMI where if a GM is open and willing, will sit there and take in any chatter/suggestions/rants/ramblings/ideas/ect... that the player has. And as always I encourage you guys to PM the GMs if you ever have something wrong.

We don't bite. I swear.
