I can honestly say I've never been put off from RPing in an area on the grounds that it wasn't decorated.

All of the GM modifications are quality as standard, but they're far from necessary. If RP in the Lawless town dies, I assure you it will be nothing to do with whether or not it's decorated.
I'll explain why building is a mess, actually.

The command used to spawn objects is rather simple. However, removing them is another issue entirely. Usually, you're not entirely happy with the first object you spawn, so naturally you want to remove it again and retry. On the old server core, this was much easier than it is on the current. Simply because you could target the nearest object and delete it using macros. On this core, every single one of the objects you spawn gain a unique ID. An ID you have to type in manually when you despawn the object again. If you spawn two identical objects next to eachother, each of them has an unique ID code. That code is on 6-8 or so digits.

Plus, we can't resize objects on this core for some reason. It's a big annoyance.
Brutal honesty? Augh.

I honestly thing you are all high strung, and this carries over to the players. So many rules, so little enforcement... it's sorta like this: I view CoTH as a very exclusive playground, where elitism is fostered to the point of vomit. If you are friends with a GM, it seems you get some breaks, and are allowed to say what you want, how you want, even if you are wrong or are being a prick.

Aso for all the people who think "Elitism" is what makes CoTH a good place, or sets it appart from retail, I have to disagree. The idea of a community that likes to -roleplay- is what sets us appart. Taking this shit too seriously is what starts problems. Everyone here has a certain expectation of everyone else that borderlines on unrealistic.

I find this statement complaint very ironic.

Mm. How so? If you are going to call me a hypocrite somehow, please go right ahead, heh. But it's still -valid-.
I think everyone needs to take a break. Make it unable to log in-game or on forum for a week, or something, then see the results. /sagenod.
I gotta agree with Dan. I think if CoTH, the actual site and server... just took a week break here and there, people would get a lil' less strained and realize that they -needed- the break. This place is fun, but not mandatory what-so-ever.
Actually, all I asked for is a bartender NPC and a few chairs + tables, and a bar. Nothing else. :)
Still doesn't mean ya need it, Jurkey. RP there is going fine.

Also, I have a hard time imagining why any barmaid would want to go to a lawless town. They could as easily steal your drinks as pay for them.

This could be a huge disruption to the server.

Not to mention with some people's schedules you may be knocking off their opportunity to rp when they actually get a chance.
The place died. People stopped going there, and it's only when I throw out events there that people come. And a grizzled old war veteran, might want to earn some money?
On a more constructive note, maybe there should be some sort of... meet and greet again? And not the formal "Let's all be nice" sort of meet and greet, but an actual "Let's sort this mess out and lay our concearns on the floor" meet and greet. I know Grakor called for constructive criticism, but I think that involves addressing the negative aspects we see on this server -without- resorting to name calling, silly trivial arguments, or attacks. That doesn't mean you can't confront things... I think it all just depends on how you do it.

And now you know the story of all custom areas.

And Wuvvums, no need to get agressive. I was just saying that because people were getting aggressive, yet not realizing it, that a forced break might fit well in here.
We could let people be responsible for their own aggression and take their own breaks instead of forcing the server and forums down. I don't think we need to take measures that drastic.

Yes, let's just force the whole server down, there's no way that could be a disruption to anyone at all, now could it?

That's -exactly- what I'm talking about, Wuvvums. I don't wanna get into a fight over this as I'm trying to be constructive here, but what'd happen if it was down for a while? Would it really be that bad?

By the way, I'm getting on vent in a second if you wish to talk a bit more.
